2011-12 Nova Scotia Recycles Contest Winners!
Mar 20, 2012 - First of all, many thanks to all the teachers and students who submitted the many fantastic entries we received for the 2011-2011 Nova Scotia Recycles Contest. Our judging committee reviewed over 8,100 entries from 218 schools!
Winning students will be honoured at awards celebrations throughout the province in April. Students receive a variety of prizes, including backpacks, movie passes and a selection of promotional items made from recycled materials. As well, the schools of winning and runner-up students receive cash prizes of $500 and $250 respectively. That's a total of more than $30,000 for schools across the province!
Grade 12 students will be recognized with scholarships - $1,500 for regional winners and $750 for runners-up. RRFB Nova Scotia will also surprise the provincial winner with a $5,000 grand prize scholarship!

Nova Scotia Recycles Contest Early Bird Winners Chosen
Jan 6, 2012 - The early bird winners in the 12th Annual Nova Scotia Recycles Contest have been chosen. We chose ten (10) winners, one from each of the 7 regions, plus 3 additional draws from all regions combined. The chosen classes have been contacted and will receive a blue-bin full prizes, including a $50 gift card for classroom supplies. Here's the list of winning schools:

We received a record number of early bird entries this year - 4081entries from 281 classes to be exact! That's about 200% more than previous years! Thanks to all who have participated so far.
With just under one month to go until the final deadline, remember - you can't win unless you enter, so get those entries in! Entries must be postmarked by February 3 to qualify.

The 12th Annual Nova Scotia Recycles Contest Launched
Sept 19, 2011 - RRFB Nova Scotia has kicked off the 12th annual Nova Scotia Recycles Contest! Open to students in grades Primary to 12, the contest challenges them to "Be Super Green!" and help Nova Scotia reach the provincial goal of reducing our solid waste from 420 kg to 300 kg/person/year by 2015. Last year we received over 8,400 entries from almost 220 schools!
Help us spread the message, "Be Super Green!", and you could win!
- More than $55,000 in cash, prizes and scholarships
- Schools of winning students win $500 (excluding research essay)
- $20,000 in scholarships from grade 12 students, including a $5,000 grand prize to the provincial winner!
